Holding his wife's hand, William G. Werner, age 64, of Grandview, WI passed away peacefully to the Lord on December 12, 2011 at St. Cloud VA Medical Center in St. Cloud, MN.

William George Werner was born February 25, 1947 in Milwaukee, WI. He graduated from high school in Milwaukee, and then attended Milwaukee Area Tech College and received training to become a Machinist. Holding his wife's hand, William G. Werner, age 64, of Grandview, WI passed away peacefully to the Lord on December 12, 2011 at St. Cloud VA Medical Center in St. Cloud, MN.

William George Werner was born February 25, 1947 in Milwaukee, WI. He graduated from high school in Milwaukee, and then attended Milwaukee Area Tech College and received training to become a Machinist. On June 17, 1966 Bill joined the Mobile Construction Battalion of the United States Navy. While in the service he earned the national defense service medal, the Vietnam service medal with combat insignia, the combat action ribbon, and the Vietnam campaign medal with device. Bill was honorably discharged on April 12, 1969 and returned to Milwaukee. Bill worked from 1970 until 1986 as a machinist for Milwaukee Railroad. On August 4, 1973 Bill was joined in marriage to Elizabeth Jane Machalik in Racine, WI. He continued his work as a machinist for Twin Disc and Modine Manufacturing Company in Racine, WI. In 1994 Bill began work for Catholic Cemetery Association where he worked until 1999. Bill and Elizabeth moved to Grandview, WI in 2003. Bill was a volunteer fire fighter for the Namakagon Fire Department, and a member of the Machinist Union.

Bill is survived by his wife of 38 years, Betty; one sister: Carol (John) Grosklaus of Grafton, WI; two uncles; three aunts, including Tillie Musich of West Allis, WI whom he considered a second mother; many nieces & nephews; and his faithful dog "Molly".

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at St. Ann Catholic Church in Cable, WI. Father Phil Juza will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 12, in Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove, WI. Military honors will be accorded by the Wisconsin Military Funeral Honors Program. A time of gathering will be held at noon following the interment on the 12th at Infusino's Restaurant in Racine, WI.
