William Allen Christman age 68, of Stone Lake, WI passed away Friday, February 17, 2012 at Water's Edge Care Center in Hayward, WI after a courageous battle with cancer.
Bill was born and raised in Hayward, WI on July 11, 1943 the son of William & Dorothy (McPeak) Christman. He graduated for Hayward High School in 1961.
On February 16, 1963 he married Gladys Metcalf.

William Allen Christman age 68, of Stone Lake, WI passed away Friday, February 17, 2012 at Water's Edge Care Center in Hayward, WI after a courageous battle with cancer.
Bill was born and raised in Hayward, WI on July 11, 1943 the son of William & Dorothy (McPeak) Christman. He graduated for Hayward High School in 1961.
On February 16, 1963 he married Gladys Metcalf.
Bill served his country twenty-six years in the United States Army, retiring in 1989 as a Command Sergeant Major (CSM). Bill served as the CSM of the 517th Maintenance Battalion (TMDE) in Zweibruecken Germany and a CSM of the United States Army TMDE Support Group at Redstone Arsenal AL. Bill was responsible of establishing the 517th Maintenance Battalion (TMDE) motto "Setting the Standard." Following his retirement Bill and Gladys moved to Stone Lake in 1991.
Bill earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from the University of Northern Colorado and a Masters Degree in Management Information Systems from the University of Alabama - Huntsville.
Bill began working for the Sawyer County Zoning Department in 1994. In 1998 he was selected as the Sawyer County Zoning Administrator. He retired from the County in 2010.
Bill was a VFW Life Member. He enjoyed traveling, reading books - specially with his Kindle, deer hunting, bicycle riding and his roses. He particularly enjoyed hunting in Germany. Bill especially enjoyed his four granddaughters.
Bill is survived by his wife Gladys of Stone Lake, WI, daughter: Renee L. (Robert) Fahey of Mountain Home, ID, son: James A. (Ladye) Christman of Santa Clara, CA, his brother: Charles L. (Judy) Christman of South Beloit, IL, and his granddaughters: Amanda and Erin Fahey, Eleanor and Hazel Christman.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
