Wayne George Wilber, age 90, of Radisson, WI, died on Sunday, July 29, 2012 at St. Mary's Essentia Health in Duluth, MN.

Wayne George Wilber was born on December 30, 1921 in Crandon, WI, the son of Charles and Gertrude (LaRock) Wilber. He attended school in Crandon before enlisting in the United States Army where he proudly served his country during World War 2. Wayne George Wilber, age 90, of Radisson, WI, died on Sunday, July 29, 2012 at St. Mary's Essentia Health in Duluth, MN.

Wayne George Wilber was born on December 30, 1921 in Crandon, WI, the son of Charles and Gertrude (LaRock) Wilber. He attended school in Crandon before enlisting in the United States Army where he proudly served his country during World War 2. Wayne saw action in Italy and Africa, earning four Bronze Battle Stars and the Purple Heart Medal. On February 16, 1956, he married Patricia McCormack in Milwaukee, where they lived for over 35 years while Wayne was employed as a machine operator for George Sealman & Sons Printing Company. They moved to Radisson after Wayne retired in 1986. Wayne loved anything to do with the outdoors, and especially enjoyed hunting, fishing, and shooting; and was a proud tribal member of the Menominee Indian Tribe of Wisconsin. Wayne was also a member of the National Rifle Association, the Disabled American Veterans, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Wayne is survived by his children: Kristine (Thurlow) Steen of Hayward, WI, Kathleen Wilber of Turtle Lake, WI, and Robert Wilber of Radisson, WI; six grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; brothers: Jack of Crandon, WI, Len (Edith) of Sturgeon Bay, WI, and Dale (Marge) of Ewin, MI; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Patricia; son, Michael; sisters: Lillian Mohr, Laura McNut, and Edith Adam; and brothers: Harley, Floyd, Charles, and Derl.

Burial will be in the Pinelawn Memorial Park, 10700 West Capitol Drive, Milwaukee, WI on Monday, August 6, 2012 at 10:00 a.m.
