Warren Cooper 84, of Stone Lake, WI passed away Sunday, October 14, 2012 at Golden Living - Valley of Hayward Nursing Home in Hayward, WI surrounded by his family.
Warren was born March 13, 1928 in Freeport IL to George & Laura (Buffum) Cooper.
Warren married Dorothy Yahnke in 1950 at the First Lutheran Church in Freeport, IL. He attended North Central College in Naperville IL earning a Bachelor's degree in Biology and a teaching degree. Warren Cooper 84, of Stone Lake, WI passed away Sunday, October 14, 2012 at Golden Living - Valley of Hayward Nursing Home in Hayward, WI surrounded by his family.
Warren was born March 13, 1928 in Freeport IL to George & Laura (Buffum) Cooper.
Warren married Dorothy Yahnke in 1950 at the First Lutheran Church in Freeport, IL. He attended North Central College in Naperville IL earning a Bachelor's degree in Biology and a teaching degree. He also received his Master's Degree in Biology from the Illinois Wesleyan University. Warren was a teacher, coach and athletic director at Octavia High School in Colfax, IL. He was inducted into the IL Football Coaches Hall of Fame, IL Athletic Directors Hall of Fame, Bloomington-Normal Officials Hall of Fame all of Illinois. Warren retired in 1986 after 34 years of faithful service.
Among those who survive and gratefully shared his life is his wife of 61 years Dorothy of Stone Lake, WI; his children Patrick (Cathy) Cooper of Bloomington, IL, Michael Cooper of South Pasadena, CA, Scott Cooper of Normal, IL; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren; one sister Laura "Corky" Derr of Freeport, IL.
He is preceded in death by three sisters and five brothers.
A Celebration of Warren's Life will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 19, 2012 at the First Lutheran Church in Hayward, WI. Pastor Scott Ludford will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 19, 2012. In Lieu of Flowers memorials may be made to the First Lutheran Church 10680 Main Street in Hayward, WI 54843
