Virginia M. Murawski, age 88, of Hayward, WI passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at the Hayward Area Memorial Hospital.

Virginia M. Hojnosz was born August 25, 1923 in Chicago, IL the daughter of Jon and Maria Hojnosz. She attended St Hedwig Catholic School and then attended Josephine's Dress Design School for two years where she learned to design dresses and be a seamstress. Virginia M. Murawski, age 88, of Hayward, WI passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at the Hayward Area Memorial Hospital.

Virginia M. Hojnosz was born August 25, 1923 in Chicago, IL the daughter of Jon and Maria Hojnosz. She attended St Hedwig Catholic School and then attended Josephine's Dress Design School for two years where she learned to design dresses and be a seamstress. During World War II Virginia worked at a civil defense plant where she used her seamstress knowledge in making parachutes for the war effort. After the war Virginia was married to the soldier she had been waiting for, Edmund Murawski, on January 5, 1946 in Chicago. Virginia became a busy homemaker raising her three children. In 1962 she went back to work for Primrose Candy Company where she made hard candy and worked as a supervisor. She continued work there until 1988 when she retired and moved to Grayslake, IL. Virginia and Edmund moved to Hayward, WI in 2003. Virginia became active with the Hayward Senior Center and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hayward. She loved feeding and watching the animals outside her home.

Virginia is survived by her three children, Charlotte (Scott) Schultz of Hayward, Phillip (Elaine) Murawski of Lake Zurich, IL, Paul (Ginny) Murawski of Arizona; four grandchildren, David, Julie, Melissa and Eddie; and many nieces and nephews.

She was prededed in death by her parents; husband, Edmund; three brothers, Joey, Walter and Herman; and three sisters, Eleanor, Gene and Stephanie.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 19, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hayward with Father Philip Juza officiating. A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday evening at Anderson-Nathan-Koerpel Funeral Home in Hayward and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Hayward.
