Thomas George Bramhall, 81, of Hayward died October 17, 2012 at Regions Hospital, St. Paul, MN.

Tom was born September 10, 1931 in Oak Park, IL, the son of Frank and Evelyn (Nelson) Bramhall, one of seven children. He graduated from Oak Park-River Forest High School and attended Culver Stockton College, Canton, MO. In May 1951, he met JoAnn Koch in River Forest, IL where she attended Concordia Teachers College. Thomas George Bramhall, 81, of Hayward died October 17, 2012 at Regions Hospital, St. Paul, MN.

Tom was born September 10, 1931 in Oak Park, IL, the son of Frank and Evelyn (Nelson) Bramhall, one of seven children. He graduated from Oak Park-River Forest High School and attended Culver Stockton College, Canton, MO. In May 1951, he met JoAnn Koch in River Forest, IL where she attended Concordia Teachers College. They were married December 24, 1951 in Stuttgart, AR. Tom joined the U.S. Marine Corps in January 1952 and served two years as control tower chief of the Opalocka Naval Air Base in Florida. After discharge the couple settled for 25 yrs. in Addison, IL where they raised two sons and one daughter. They were active members of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Addison, where JoAnn taught grades 2-3. Tom's love of flying led him to a 34 yr. career with American Airlines; beginning in February 1954 as an agent in the flight dispatch office at Midway Airport, Chicago, IL and retiring as Director of Systems Control in Dallas-Ft. Worth, Texas.

After retirement in 1987 the couple moved to their home on Lac Court O'reilles and in 1998 into the City of Hayward. Tom enjoyed musky fishing, ice fishing, snowmobiling, gardening and teaching his grandchildren to fish. He was an active member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, Hayward. His faith in God was strong. He loved his country and was proud to have served it as a Marine. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Tom is survived by his wife of 61 years, JoAnn; two sons, Thomas (Cynthia) Bramhall of Mooresville, NC and David (Brenda) Bramhall of Hudson, WI; one daughter, Jeanne (Rick) Thompson of Scandia, MN; five grandchildren, Tom, Jim and Steve Bramhall, Rob Douglass and Kristen Peterson; one great-grandson, Luke Bramhall; one brother, Arthur Bramhall of Studio City, CA; three sisters, Patricia (Neal) DeBolt of Bartlett, IL, Sharon (Ed) Hannon of W. Chicago, IL and Mary Lou Bramhall of River Forest, IL; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first son, James Richard Bramhall; his parents and two sisters, Dolores Schutte and Jean Henderson.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 22 at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, Hayward, Pastor Robert Pfeil officiating. Visitation will be one hour preceding the service. A light luncheon will follow. Internment will be at the Veterans Cemetery, Spooner, WI.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, Hayward or the Wounded Warrior Project.
