Thelma Louise Ponshock was born June 22, 1922 in Butternut, WI the daughter of Joseph and Clara (Hoth) Ponshock. She attended school and graduated from high school in Butternut. After her schooling she lived in Oregon and California for a short time before returning to Wisconsin. On July 20, 1940 Thelma was joined in marriage to Homer Griffith in Butternut. Together they moved to Glidden, WI where Thelma worked summers as a waitress at Ross's Teal Lake Lodge and Brandt's Lost Land Lake Lodge near Hayward. Thelma Louise Ponshock was born June 22, 1922 in Butternut, WI the daughter of Joseph and Clara (Hoth) Ponshock. She attended school and graduated from high school in Butternut. After her schooling she lived in Oregon and California for a short time before returning to Wisconsin. On July 20, 1940 Thelma was joined in marriage to Homer Griffith in Butternut. Together they moved to Glidden, WI where Thelma worked summers as a waitress at Ross's Teal Lake Lodge and Brandt's Lost Land Lake Lodge near Hayward. Thelma later went to work for Louisiana Pacific in Mellen, WI for over 20 years. Throughout Thelma's life she was active in the Glidden community through numerous service groups including, PTA, Glidden American Legion Auxillary, Glidden VFW and Senior Center volunteer and secretary. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Glidden and served as president of its Mission Circle and treasurer. She enjoyed playing Bingo, Pekeno, Yahtzee with friends and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Thelma is survived by her three children, Wayne (Liz) Griffith of Duluth, MN, Sandy (Rick) Wampole of Hayward, WI, Carol (Paul) Radloff of Rice Lake, WI; thirteen grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; 12 great great grandchildren; one sister, Shirley Schultz of Butternut, WI; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Homer; two brothers, Jim and Billy; one sister, Dorothy; and two grandsons, T.J. and David.

A service celebrating Thelma's life will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 10th, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Glidden with Pastor Stanly Bahn officiating. A time of gathering with family and friends will be held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday at the church.

Honorary bearers will be Jason Ernest; Beau Griffith, Gatlin Griffith, Greg Griffith, Hunter Hessel, and Rob Radloff.
