Sophie T. (Sova) Anderson, age 95, of Hayward, WI passed away on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at the Golden Living-Valley of Hayward Nursing Home.

Sophie Theresa was born February 13, 1917 in Hayward, WI the daughter of Anton and Mary (Jalowitz) Sova. She was raised and attended school in Hayward. On June 13, 1942 Sophie was joined in marriage to Ernest O. Anderson at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Hayward. Sophie T. (Sova) Anderson, age 95, of Hayward, WI passed away on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at the Golden Living-Valley of Hayward Nursing Home.

Sophie Theresa was born February 13, 1917 in Hayward, WI the daughter of Anton and Mary (Jalowitz) Sova. She was raised and attended school in Hayward. On June 13, 1942 Sophie was joined in marriage to Ernest O. Anderson at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Hayward. In 1954 Sophie and Ernie built and started Valley Rest Home which was built from the blue print stage and was the first licensed nursing home in Wisconsin. They operated the nursing home until 1975. Sophie was very involved in the community including: St. Joseph Catholic Church, Altar and Rosary Society, Red Cross, Hayward Hospital Auxiliary, Women of the Moose, VFW where she was honored as Woman of the Year, and countless other charitable organizations. She loved spending time with her friends and family, enjoyed flowers and gardening, baking and volunteering at the church. She was well known for her kind heart and giving spirit.

Sophie is survived by her two children, Judith "Judy" (Lee) Hanson, of Hayward, WI, Richard "Rick" (Jan) Anderson of Hayward, WI; one granddaughter, Tracy (Dan) Ruiter of Owatonna, MN; three great grandsons, Brady, Bretton and Jack; two step grandchildren, Heather (Chad) Sheehan of Hayward, WI, Ryan Ignace of Sydney, MT; two step great grandchildren, Devin and Reese Sheehan; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ernest; and five brothers and four sisters.
