Ronald J. Pankratz, 72, of Hayward passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, WI.

Ronald Joseph Pankratz was born January 6, 1939 in Marshfield, WI, the son of William and Anita Pankratz. He grew up in the Marshfield area and graduated from Marshfield Senior High School in 1956. Ronald J. Pankratz, 72, of Hayward passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, WI.

Ronald Joseph Pankratz was born January 6, 1939 in Marshfield, WI, the son of William and Anita Pankratz. He grew up in the Marshfield area and graduated from Marshfield Senior High School in 1956. He went on to ITT for two years and was a member of the WI National Guard. Ron started his working career as a farmer on his uncle's farm and also worked for the Kohler Company for a short time. He then started his career as a floor mechanic and traveled around the United States installing floors. Ron worked in this field for 55 years and always enjoyed his work and making new friends on the job.

In 1958 Ron was joined in marriage to Mary Buffington. They divorced in 1975. In 1977 he was married to Marlene Lindquist.

Ron enjoyed traveling for many years with the Loyal Order of Moose Fraternity, attending conventions throughout the state and he held many offices in the Moose, both locally and statewide. He was the recipient of the highest degree, Pilgrim Degree, in 2000. He was currently a member of Rice Lake Lodge 402.

Ron's hobbies included working in his work shop making wooden lawn ornaments, fishing, playing cards, and golf. He was also an avid bowler, hitting the perfect 300 game in 2000.

Ron is survived by his wife, Marlene; his son Steven (Cindy) Pankratz of Hayward; 2 daughters, Lori (Bryan) Hendrickson of Greenwood, WI and Michelle (Stephen) Raimer of Hayward; five grandchildren, Julie, Allen, Bergitta, Michael and Jacob; five great-grandchildren, Austin, Kaylynn, Tessa, DJ and Alexis. He will also be sadly missed by his four legged pal, Bailee.

He was preceded in death by his father, mother, step-father, a brother, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Honorary bearers were Steven Pankratz, Stephen Raimer, Bryan Hendrickson, Allen Hendrickson, Michael Raimer and Jacob Raimer.
