Ricky Larson, age 52, a lifelong resident of Hayward, died on Thursday, July 11, 2013, at his brother's home after a brief battle with cancer.

Ricky E. Larson was born on May 2, 1961, in Hayward, Wisconsin to parents Lloyd and Sylvia Larson. He grew up on the family farm and graduated from the Hayward Schools. After graduation, he joined the family logging business until in his early 20's, he pursued his real passion and started his own business of Larson's Tree Work. Ricky Larson, age 52, a lifelong resident of Hayward, died on Thursday, July 11, 2013, at his brother's home after a brief battle with cancer.

Ricky E. Larson was born on May 2, 1961, in Hayward, Wisconsin to parents Lloyd and Sylvia Larson. He grew up on the family farm and graduated from the Hayward Schools. After graduation, he joined the family logging business until in his early 20's, he pursued his real passion and started his own business of Larson's Tree Work. He always found time to support his children's sporting activities and loved to spend time at his cabin on Duck Pond Road. He enjoyed motorcycles, attending stock car races, hunting, fishing, and trapping.

Ricky is survived by his children: Pam (Kevin Gerken) Larson, Kara (Cody Hanninen) Larson, Jeff Larson, all of Hayward, 3 grandchildren: Alina Fay-Lyn Stemmann, Kole Arthur Gerken, Riley Edwin Hanninen, mother Sylvia Johnson of Rice Lake, WI, brothers: Steve (Lettie) Larson of Hayward, WI, Ken Larson, Tony Larson of Rice Lake, WI, Ron Larson of Hayward, WI, many nieces, nephews, many other family members, and will be sadly missed by his dog Oreo.

Ricky is preceded in death by his father Lloyd, grandparents, and many other family members.

A graveside service for Ricky Larson will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2013, at 11 am, at the Earl Cemetery with Dave Hochstetler officiating. A gathering of friends and family will follow at the Hayward Veterans Center.
