Richard L. Ehn, 69, of Winter, died Sunday, August 12, 2012 at his home.

Richard "Dick" Leonard Ehn was born March 19, 1943 in Chicago, IL, the son of Leonard and Esther (Rhode) Ehn. Richard was the first of his family to be born in the United States. Richard L. Ehn, 69, of Winter, died Sunday, August 12, 2012 at his home.

Richard "Dick" Leonard Ehn was born March 19, 1943 in Chicago, IL, the son of Leonard and Esther (Rhode) Ehn. Richard was the first of his family to be born in the United States. He attended school in Winter, WI. On February 1, 1964, Richard was joined in marriage to Janet Moore. While serving in the U.S. Navy, he was assigned to the naval ship the U.S.S. Enterprise.cvan.65. When discharged from the Navy, Richard returned to Winter to join the family business, Ehn's Body Shop, as a body man, eventually taking over the business. During his lifetime, he held many professions from mason and logger to environmental driller. In 2005, he retired in Winter. Richard was always a man that lived his life the way he wanted. He was an avid reader, reading everything he could get his hands on to feed his need for knowledge. He loved anything automotive and took much pride in the time he spent on the Enterprise.

He is survived by his wife Janet of Winter, WI; his children, Kim (Ray) Allard of Trego, WI, Barb Suzan of Trego, WI, Shane (Michele) Ehn of Winter, WI; three grandchildren, Terra Jo Suzan, Cody Leonard Allard and John Larson-Ehn; one great-granddaughter Cadence Gifford; one brother, James Ehn of Winter, WI; one sister Janet (Steve) Reese of Winter, WI; many nieces and nephews.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Esther, and his grandparents, Gus and Anna Ehn.

A Memorial Service for Richard will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 17 at Zion Lutheran Church in Winter with Military Rites following at the cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
