Paul Gustav Wick, age 52, a resident of Stone Lake, WI, died
peacefully and unexpectedly on Thursday, August 22nd,
2013 at his home.Paul was born on January 6, 1961 in
Kenosha, WI to parents Lester and Ruth Wick. He attended
Tremper High School and University of Wisconsin-Parkside
in Kenosha, WI. He moved to the Hayward area where he
and his brother Bruce and sister-in-law Sarah purchased
Angler'sHaven Resort on Lac Courte Oreilles. They have
recently celebrated 30 years of ownership. He was a

Paul Gustav Wick, age 52, a resident of Stone Lake, WI, died
peacefully and unexpectedly on Thursday, August 22nd,
2013 at his home.Paul was born on January 6, 1961 in
Kenosha, WI to parents Lester and Ruth Wick. He attended
Tremper High School and University of Wisconsin-Parkside
in Kenosha, WI. He moved to the Hayward area where he
and his brother Bruce and sister-in-law Sarah purchased
Angler'sHaven Resort on Lac Courte Oreilles. They have
recently celebrated 30 years of ownership. He was a
mentor for all of those who worked with him and the many
children that have become part of the "Angler's Haven
family". He was the kindest and hardest working
man that will forever change the lives of the many
people that knew him.Paul
loved the lake he lived on. He loved fishing, hunting,
snowmobiling, hiking and spending time in the woods with
his dogs Nash and Jade. He was a passionate lifetime
Packer fan, a lifetime member of Rocky Mountain Elk
Foundation and the Sno-Trails Snowmobile Club. He was
also a member of S.C.O.P.E. (Sawyer County Outdoor
Projects and Education), where he loved teaching youth
the skills of archery and shooting. Paul was always there
to volunteer his help whenever or wherever needed. He
was a lifetime WELS Synod member
belonging to Peace Lutheran Church of Hayward, WI.
Paul is survived by his longtime partner Mimi Dahlby, mother
Ruth Wick, brother Bruce (Sarah) Wick all of Stone Lake,
WI, sister Susan (Ken) Kloet of Salem, WI, nieces Jackie
(Adam) Gerou of Paris, WI, and Nicole Kloet of Copenhagen,
Denmark, great niece Erin Gerou, many cousins and his
girls Nash and Jade. Paul is preceded in death by his father,
Lester Wick and his grandparents. A gathering of family and
friends of Paul Wick was held on Sunday, August 25th,
2013, at the Anderson-Nathan-Koerpel Funeral Home,
Hayward, WI. Words of remembrance were shared at 6pm.
In lieu of
flowers, memorials would be greatly appreciated. The family
will distribute to Sawyer County Outdoor Projects and
Education, the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation
Hayward Youth Scholarship, and other local youth
outdoor activities.
