Myrtle L. Hanson, age 85, of Hayward, WI passed away on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at Water's Edge Care Center in Hayward, WI.

Myrtle Lenea was born June 6, 1927 in Chicago, IL the daughter of Olof and Clara (Palmquist) Berglund. She was raised in Chicago and graduated from Bowen High School. On November 22, 1947 Myrtle was joined in marriage to Tore "Ted" Hanson in Chicago. Myrtle L. Hanson, age 85, of Hayward, WI passed away on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at Water's Edge Care Center in Hayward, WI.

Myrtle Lenea was born June 6, 1927 in Chicago, IL the daughter of Olof and Clara (Palmquist) Berglund. She was raised in Chicago and graduated from Bowen High School. On November 22, 1947 Myrtle was joined in marriage to Tore "Ted" Hanson in Chicago. Myrtle and Ted lived in Chicago for 13 years before Ted's work as a construction superintendent took them to several different cities where Myrtle was busy as a home maker raising their two children. In 1983, Myrtle and Ted moved to Hayward, WI where they owned and operated the Chippewa Motel on County Highway B. They operated the business for 10 years before retiring. Myrtle was an avid Green Bay Packer and Chicago Cubs fan. She enjoyed playing pinochle at the Hayward Senior Center and loved being with her children and grandchildren. She was very proud of her Swedish heritage.

Myrtle is survived by her two children, Scott (Ellen) Hanson of Hayward, WI, Debra (Rick) Herod of Tulsa, OK; four grandchildren, Katie Hanson-Pate of Hickory, NC, Kristi (Jason) Brannon of Charlotte, NC, Abigail (Dustin) Cornell on Oklahoma, Jeremiah (Wendi) Herod of Maryland; one great grandson, Emmett Brannon; one sister, Barbara Chaffee of Barrington, IL; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ted; one sister, Elaine Walsh.

A private family service will be held at a later time.
