Michael G. Dieckman, 58, of Hayward, WI passed away at Hayward Area Memorial Hospital on Thursday, March 14, 2013.

Michael was born on August 10, 1954 to Milton and Alice (Ross) Dieckman in Shell Lake, WI. As a youth, he was an avid outdoorsman and active in the Boy Scouts, attaining the rank Eagle Scout. He graduated from Hayward High School in 1972. After high school he worked as a surveyor in the Hayward area and then moved west to work in the Wyoming oil fields. He moved back to the Midwest and started a career in dry walling, working on commercial and residential projects for the past 25 years in Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Mike's love for the outdoors endured throughout his life. He continued to hunt, fish, trap, and camp wherever his travels took him throughout the United States. He enjoyed sharing his love and knowledge of the outdoors with his nieces and nephews. Each has been touched by Mike and will carry on his passion for the outdoors. He always called Hayward "Home" and especially enjoyed the woods, waters, and people of the Chippewa Flowage area.

Mike is survived by his parents, Milton and Alice of Hayward; 3 siblings, Carmen (Mike) Brandel of Jordan, MN, Peter (Amy) Dieckman of Hayward, and Susan (Darrel) Bugel of Woodbury, MN; 5 nieces and nephews, Joseph and Emma Dieckman and Joshua, Allison and Madison Bugel; other family members include Aunt Isla Hams, Uncle David and Aunt Barb Williamson, Uncle Ronald Ross and Step-Grandmother Lucille Ross; many cousins and friends who loved Mike like a brother.
