Leon S. Zbigniewicz, age 79, of Radisson, WI passed away Thursday, March 15, 2012 at his home surrounded by his family.
Leon Steve Zbigniewicz was born August 23, 1932 in Sawyer County, Wisconsin.

He was joined in marriage to Catherine Wagner on January 27, 1959, in Madison, WI. Leon served his country honorably in the U.S. Air Force, retiring after 20 years of service. Leon S. Zbigniewicz, age 79, of Radisson, WI passed away Thursday, March 15, 2012 at his home surrounded by his family.
Leon Steve Zbigniewicz was born August 23, 1932 in Sawyer County, Wisconsin.

He was joined in marriage to Catherine Wagner on January 27, 1959, in Madison, WI. Leon served his country honorably in the U.S. Air Force, retiring after 20 years of service. He served in the Korean Conflict, Cuban Missile Crisis and Vietnam War, and was stationed at various airbases throughout the world. Leon and his family were in Alaska during the 1964 earthquake. He went back to Vietnam 3 times after retiring to work as a heavy duty equipment operator with the Local Union 139; he then was employed with WPS for 15 years as their maintenance mechanic.

Leon enjoyed ATV riding, airplanes, nature and history. He loved the outdoors, picking berries, observing wildlife and feeding the critters by his house. His favorites were the blue jays, chipmunks, deer and hummingbirds.

son, WI; seven children, William Zbigniewicz of Sun Prairie, WI, James (Julie) Zbigniewicz of Sun Prairie, WI, Kathy Okroley of Radisson, WI, Sandra (Dave) Knuteson of Lodi, WI, Robert Zbigniewicz of Madison, WI, Mary Jane (Steve) Norris of Sun Prairie, WI, Shawn (Dionne) Zbigniewicz of Sun Prairie, WI; nine grandchildren, Sarah, Angie, Shane, Samantha, Michael, Emma, Danny, Kyra, and Anthony; one great grandchild, Andrew.

He is preceded in death by his parents.
