Helen "Grandma" Jacobson, age 88, of Hayward, WI passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2011 at the Hayward Area Memorial Hospital.

Helen Bernice Jacobson was born March 3, 1923 in Duluth, MN the daughter of Felix and Anna M. (Pykkonen) Peters. She was raised and attended school in north Minneapolis. Helen moved to California and was proud to work as one of the "Rosie the Riveter" assembling Bombardier Planes during World War II. Helen "Grandma" Jacobson, age 88, of Hayward, WI passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2011 at the Hayward Area Memorial Hospital.

Helen Bernice Jacobson was born March 3, 1923 in Duluth, MN the daughter of Felix and Anna M. (Pykkonen) Peters. She was raised and attended school in north Minneapolis. Helen moved to California and was proud to work as one of the "Rosie the Riveter" assembling Bombardier Planes during World War II. While in California Helen met and was married to John Jacobson on December 26, 1942 in Santa Monica, CA. Helen returned to Minneapolis while John was in military service. Helen continued in assembly work in the Minneapolis area for Skippy Peanut butter, Remington Rand and Twin City Arsenal. She also worked sorting mail for the post office. In 1970 Helen and John moved to Hayward, WI where she worked with her daughter at the Hayward Bakery. Her time at the bakery was her favorite work experience, as she was known as "Grandma" to all. Throughout her life Helen was an avid Minnesota Twins and Vikings fan. She loved watching professional sports or seeing her children or grandchildren participate in sports. She also enjoyed trips to the casino to play video poker.

Helen is survived by her two daughters, Carol (Ron) Hage, Karen (Renee) Jacobson both of Hayward; two grandchildren, John (Becky) Waggoner, Jodi Waggoner, both of Hayward; two grandsons, CJ (Trish) Waggoner and Caleb Waggoner of Hayward; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; three brothers and two sisters.

A funeral service celebrating Helen's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 5, at Grace Lutheran Church in Hayward, WI with Pastor Tony Stoutenburg officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church. Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Hayward.
