Gerald "Jerry" Ralph Holzmer , aka Whitey of Radisson, WI formerly of Hampton MN. Passed away May 27, 2013
Born July 23, 1949 in Hastings MN to Leo and Mary Lou (Eilen) Holzmer. Whitey attended Hastings High School. He entered the Marines in August of 1967 where he served in the Vietnam War. He received 2 purple hearts during his service career. After being honorably discharged, Whitey was an ambitious worker. Born July 23, 1949 in Hastings MN to Leo and Mary Lou (Eilen) Holzmer. Whitey attended Hastings High School. He entered the Marines in August of 1967 where he served in the Vietnam War. He received 2 purple hearts during his service career. After being honorably discharged, Whitey was an ambitious worker. On December 14, 1996, Whitey married the love of his life, Danna Thompson Holzmer. Together they raised her 3 sons. His passions in life were grandchildren, fishing, golf, and the Minnesota Vikings. He could out fish the best of them. He especially loved fishing with his dad.
Whitey leaves behind his wife, Danna; her 3 children Michael ( Sarah) Granica, Bryan Granica and Joseph Granica; 3 grandchildren, Kaydance, Gracie and Ryan; His Mother, Mary Lou; brothers and sisters, Judy (Dan) Fredrickson, Larry (Kathy) Holzmer, Nancy (Dean) Sharp, Kathleen Johnson, and David (Toni) Holzmer; father and mother in laws, Russel and Becky Thompson; brother in law, David (Connie) Thompson; numerous nieces and nephews; Jeremy Thedens; and his second best friend in the world, his dog, Lizzy.
He is proceeded in death by his father Leo Holzmer.
Funeral services are planned for 11:00 a.m. Saturday June 1st, 2013 at Anderson Nathan Koerpel Funeral home. With a gathering of friends and family one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
