Earl M. Jensen age 87, of Shell Lake formerly of Hayward, WI, passed away September 5, 2012 at Terrace View Living Center in Shell Lake, WI.

Earl was born October 14, 1924 in Faribault Co., Wells, MN the son of Hans & Lena (Bauman) Jensen. He served his country honorably in the US Army from 1945 - 1947 earning the victory medal. Earl M. Jensen age 87, of Shell Lake formerly of Hayward, WI, passed away September 5, 2012 at Terrace View Living Center in Shell Lake, WI.

Earl was born October 14, 1924 in Faribault Co., Wells, MN the son of Hans & Lena (Bauman) Jensen. He served his country honorably in the US Army from 1945 - 1947 earning the victory medal. Earl started work in construction at an early age and his work brought him to Hibbing, MN where he met Anna Rotar. Earl was joined in marriage to Anna on December 11, 1951 in Hibbing. Earl and Anna moved to California in 1951 where Earl continued in construction work. In 1966, Earl and Anna moved to Richland Center, WI where he was in construction & operated a beef farm until 1984. He semi-retired and moved to Hayward and worked part time as a groundskeeper & maintenance man at the Fresh Water Fishing Hall of Fame. He also worked the winters as a lift operator at Telemark. Earl was a volunteer for the Hayward Senior Center where he drove other seniors to their medical appointments.

Earl enjoyed going to Coopers for coffee, watching the Cubs with Anna, and he was an avid Packer Fan.

Among those who survive and gratefully shared his life are his two children, Mike (Brenda) Jensen & JoAnn Powell both of Hayward, WI; three grandchildren, Jon Powell, Darin & Darick Jensen; one sister, Donna Wass of Big Fork, MN; one sister-in-law, Patricia Roots of Hibbing, MN; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents and wife, Anna.

Graveside services will be 4:00 p.m., Monday, September 10, 2012 at the Greenwood Cemetery in Hayward, WI. Marvin
Mullet will officiate. Military honors will be accorded by the Hayward Veterans Council.
