Craig Mason, age 59, a resident of Hayward, died at his home on Monday, April 23, 2012.

Donald Craig Mason was born on October 7, 1952, in Twin Falls, Idaho to parents Donald L. and Charlotte (Matthews) Mason.

A good friend summed it up best. Some people travel through life making barely a ripple. Craig's life was more of a cannonball in the deep end. I am grateful to be one of the many who were splashed by his off-the-wall sense of humor, his ebullient personality and his lust for life. He was a creator of events, spaces and environments that were almost spiritual in their beauty and the emotions that they evoked. Craig possessed a playful and caustic wit that drew us in to his circle. I believe that he had a true and genuine interest in and an affinity for people of all colors and stripes. Craig's passing has left a huge hole in the fabric of the great Northwoods that he loved so well. Rest in Peace Brother.

Craig is survived by his life partner Jim Kerkow of Hayward, WI, mother Charlotte Mason of Eugene, OR, sister Paula (Gary) Clark of Eugene, OR, niece Elizabeth Clark of New York, NY, step son Jacob (Tracey) Kerkow of Fairbanks, AK, and many other family, relatives, and friends.

Craig is preceded in death by his father Donald L. Mason.

A memorial service for Craig Mason will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at 11:00 am at The Hayward Wesleyan Church - Hayward, Wisconsin
