Beverley Suzanne Chartier, 74, of Couderay, passed away at St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth on Monday, April 14, 2014.
Beverley was born on July 13, 1939 to Donald and Elina (Korhonen) Byrne in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She graduated from West Division High School in Milwaukee. Bev dedicated her career to working with children in the school district of Greenfield, a suburb of Milwaukee, for over 25 years. She married Jerome D. Beverley Suzanne Chartier, 74, of Couderay, passed away at St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth on Monday, April 14, 2014.
Beverley was born on July 13, 1939 to Donald and Elina (Korhonen) Byrne in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She graduated from West Division High School in Milwaukee. Bev dedicated her career to working with children in the school district of Greenfield, a suburb of Milwaukee, for over 25 years. She married Jerome D. Chartier on March 7, 1959 in Milwaukee at St. Michaels Catholic Church. In 1997 Jerry and Bev retired to their home on Ashegon Lake in Couderay, WI. They recently celebrated 55 years of love and happiness. Bev was actively involved as past president in both the Couderay Garden Club along with Greenfield's PTA. She sincerely enjoyed volunteering her time and leadership roles in both Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. Her passion and artistic skills shined thru with her love while working with ceramics.
Bev is survived by: her husband of 55 years Jerry, three children; Suzanne (Kirk) Phillips, Daniel (Cheryl) Chartier, and Robert (Laura) Chartier, six grandchildren; Roy, Stacy, Ashley, Chris, Robert, and Greg, 4 great-grandchildren, and one brother, James Byrne. She was preceded by; her parents, and one brother, Donald Byrne.
A funeral service is scheduled for Friday, April 18 at 11:00 am at Anderson-Nathan-Koerpel Funeral Home in Hayward with Pastor Gary Hilgendorf officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
