Amy B. Ford, 86, of Hayward passed away peacefully January 21, 2013, in Hayward, WI.
Amy was born March 23, 1926 in Beloit, WI to John and Ruth (Paulson) Halbach. She graduated from high school in Grantsburg WI. She was married to Demain Ford in Pine City, MN on November 15, 1943 and was married for 65 wonderful years. She worked on and off at the telephone company but spent most of her time at home raising her family. After retirement they moved from Beloit to Gordon, WI.
Amy attended the Northern Lights and Wesleyan Church in Hayward. To many she was simply known as the pie lady for her delicious assorted pies. Amy was extremely dedicated to her family. Always putting others before herself, she would see the beauty in everything; the glass was always half full. She had a passion for cooking, especially baking which has been passed on through the generations. She enjoyed crafts, gardening, animals and pets, nature and all of its wildlife. She also spent innumerable hours volunteering with her husband at the American Legion in Beloit.
Left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Virginia McCaul (Craig) Harvey, of Barnes, WI; granddaughters, Darcy (Sean) McEnroe of Lac du Flambeau, WI, and Janna Jero-Weinstein, Rhinelander, WI; great grand kids, Abbey, Ryan, Madeline McEnroe; Justin (Samantha) Christophersen; Cody, Anna, Aaron, Olivia Phillips; Lillian Weinstein; great great-grandkids, Mirra, Makayla, Christophersen; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A special thanks to hospice, everyone at Care Partners and special friends, Tim Foslin, Teresa Osborne, Ronnie Kofal. Pastor Mark and pastor Tim.
Amy was preceded in death by her parents; husband Demain, brothers in law and sisters in law.
A gathering to honor Amy's life will be planned for a later date for family and friends.
